Visit Manitou Springs

Project Description

For this project, the focus was to build a 30 second advertisement that showcased Manitou Springs and all that it has to offer its visitors. Working with Visit Manitou Springs we did have to make sure that we were working with Chamber Members only and that we focused on the understanding that they survive off getting heads in beds, so the main focus was to get the attention to be on spending your weekend getaway with Manitou Springs

Research & Development

Video Strategy

The focus of this video was to bring the local drive time market to Manitou Springs for the Weekend Getaway. With thisI wanted to focus on things that would get two people to come out to this spot. With everything from shopping and dining to attractions, art and so much more I knew I ahd my hands full on how I could get this done.

Target Market

The market we knew had to be drive time market. The other thing to look at with this though is who has the money to make these kinds of things happen. We decided to go for a reach that was focused more on our friends up north at the ski resorts. The idea being that they are going to get packed for the winter and want to escape the tourism so they can run away to Manitou Springs just south of you but still in the same state.

PROCESS

Storyboarding is essential when it comes to work like this. When we are running with so many different shots and so much different content. The storyboards are what you can turn to and will help guide your selection and the flow of the video itself. The storyboarding process also allows me to see the transitions and changes to the video as well as giving me the overall mood and tone, so I know just what kind of shots are actually going to work in my video setup.
